Are you interested in SEO but not sure how to tell if you’re hiring the right company? This smart article in Entrepreneur provides some good questions to ask. I encourage you to take a look at it if you’re in the market for an SEO company. To save you some time, I’ve answered the 10 questions for Blue Corona below!
1. May I have a list of current and past clients?
Sure! We are happy to share the names of our clients who give us permission to do so. We also love to share testimonials. And we have several SEO case studies that show how we get results for our clients.
2. How will you improve my search engine rankings?
How WON’T we? Kidding. First, we look at your business numbers. Because at Blue Corona, we know that you can’t maximize what you don’t measure. We’ll analyze your site to determine what’s working for you and what might be working against you. Our proprietary software will check your site for errors, rate your pages on a number of SEO qualifiers, and show us where your site’s strengths and weaknesses are. Our team will then come up with a plan to use on-site SEO to increase your search engine rankings. Strategies might include professional SEO copywriting, pay-per-click advertising, and other methods.
We’ll also propose off-site SEO strategies—ways to promote your content via social media, ethical link building, and other methods. We can even do phone call tracking to see where your callers are finding your number and how your staff or customer service reps are handling the calls. You might be surprised at what you discover!
3. Do you adhere to search engines’ webmaster guidelines?
Oh yes. And then some. Unlike some scam SEO companies, we want to keep your website on the up and up—that means no spammy link schemes, no keyword stuffing, and no other thing. We don’t need those black hat SEO tactics to improve your website’s rankings—we can do it the right way and get better, qualified results.
4. Can you guarantee my website will achieve a number-one ranking on Google, Bing, and Yahoo?
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh! Sorry…(wipes tears from eyes)…no. No, we can’t. No SEO company can guarantee number-one rankings. What we can do is track, test, tweak, repeat—the only REAL way to improve your website’s rankings.
5. Are you experienced at improving local search results?
Yes. We love working on local SEO! Blue Corona can maximize your local citations, make sure your listings are accurate, optimize your site for your service area(s), and enhance your Google + and Google Places listings.
6. Will you share with me all the changes you make to my site?
Of course. It’s your site. You’ll know exactly what your money is paying for and how well it’s working. Your Blue Corona account manager will provide you with regular updates on the work that’s being done to improve your rankings.
7. How do you measure the success of your SEO campaigns?
With hard data. We use Google Analytics and our own proprietary software to accurately track and measure your website’s performance—including how many leads you are getting from SEO, branded search, and other avenues.
8. How will we communicate and how often?
Your dedicated account manager will meet with you monthly to go over your SEO data—in clear language that you’ll understand. She or he will also be available via phone or email whenever you have a question. You’ll also have access to our proprietary software.
9. What are your fees and payment terms?
That all depends on what you want us to do for you! Please feel free to call and ask about our services.
10. What happens if/when we part ways?
We hope that we’ll be together forever! But if for some reason, things don’t work out, you will of course own the work we did for you. Sadly, we will no longer be tracking your SEO results for you, but we wish you the best of luck!
I think we’ve met Entrepreneur’s high standard for SEO companies. Will we meet yours? Put us to the test!
