Germantown Veterinary Clinic—an aptly named veterinary clinic in Germantown, Maryland—was one of our very first clients here at Blue Corona. They signed on in early 2009, and for the past eight years, we’ve worked hard to continue to grow their business and show positive SEO results. Our goal has always been to keep local organic traffic to their website high, but even more importantly, we wanted to continue to get as many new customer leads as possible from their website (since that’s what primarily grows the business).
With a large existing client base and eight years of SEO work with Blue Corona under their belt, Germantown Vet was worried that eventually, the number of leads they received each year from their website would begin to stagnate. If that happened, then their number of customers and sales could stagnate, halting the growth of their business—which gives them the funding they need to purchase new equipment, expand their service, hire additional employees, and more!
In order to get as many leads as possible, our team focused on improving the site’s conversion rate from existing traffic rather than bringing in tons of new traffic, since they ranked well for most of their market and services.
As a result, we saw local organic traffic stay more or less the same year over year (with a 1% increase in local organic traffic from Maryland), but a 184% increase in conversions from 2015 to 2016.
