Do Yext PowerListings Help with SEO?
PowerListings is a service from Yext that registers and maintains your company profile on multiple local listing websites. Think Angie’s List, Yelp, Yellow Pages, etc.
There are three different packages potential clients can choose from. The smaller packages offer registration on some lesser-known but “up & coming” local listing websites. The larger the package, the more sites you can be featured on. Some of the pricier packages also offer review management and other services.
But, does it help with SEO?
The answer is that it may help with SEO. The newest Google algorithm update has put a larger emphasis on local SEO and search. Well-known local listing sites like Yelp and Angie’s List will see a boost in rankings, which means having listings on these sites is important.
That being said, the biggest factors in SEO remain the same. You should still focus on site structure, content, and authority.
Investing in PowerListings should be a supplemental SEO move and not a first priority. Your website could benefit from PowerListings if you are using it in conjunction with an SEO campaign. If your only SEO move is registering for a PowerListings package, don’t expect to see your rankings jump.
Should you invest in Yext?
Here at Blue Corona, we always say “testing something doesn’t hurt–just be sure to track it.” If you are really interested in local listing websites, give it a shot and see if Yext is worth it. If you see leads and sales come in from these local listing sites as a result, it might be worth the investment.
You can also consider discussing the option to have your SEO company monitor and update these listings as a part of your SEO package. Interested in SEO but not sure where to start? Contact us for a free consultation.
