Ben is a passionate entrepreneur with over ten years of experience using online marketing and marketing technology to help businesses growth faster and more profitably. He is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Blue Corona as well as the operations and marketing of the company. Ben started his career in online media and Internet marketing during the dot-com era as an early employee of HotJobs.com. After HotJobs.com was (initially) acquired by Yahoo!, Ben spent time in the telecommunications industry at UUNET and WorldCom. Ben went on to run the Mid-Atlantic office of an advertising and sports marketing agency before meeting Bob Perini and starting Blue Corona.
Under Ben's leadership, Blue Corona has grown at an exceptional rate joining companies like Facebook, Under Armour, and Intuit on the 2012 Inc. 500 list. Blue Corona ranks #174 overall, #23 in the advertising and marketing category, and #1 in advertising and marketing in the MD, DC, VA, WV region. He has also helped dozens of clients achieve similar success. Not only have several clients been featured in Inc. Magazine as members of the Inc. 500, they have also recognized as leaders in their field - winning awards such as the National Comfort Institute (NCI) Contractor of the Year. Ben is an inbound marketing, SEO, and analytics expert as well as a Google AdWords Professional. He frequently lectures at local events and colleges including Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, and he is a frequent guest blogger on sites like AMEX Open Forum, ContractorTalk, and several other prominent SEO blogs.

If I'm not at Blue Corona:
You can find me out to dinner with friends, at the mall, or soaking up the sun wherever I can… but, I'd try the mall first. I have an unhealthy obsession with shoes and oversized handbags.
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
The Zack Morris Time-Out. Given that Saved by the Bell was PG, Zack's time-outs were mostly wasted on groveling soliloquies. But the possibilities….
The most rewarding aspect of working here has been:
Making the Inc. 500! The past four years have been extremely challenging, but being dubbed one of the fastest growing companies in the country and seeing Blue Corona on the same list as Under Armour, Facebook and so many other well-known companies makes it all worth it.
Alex Perini
What I like most about working here is:
Our services really make a difference. We are helping our clients grow their businesses so they can hire more people who didn't have jobs before – that's a cool thing!
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
Think Hancock… flying, being able to throw heavy objects, etc.
For fun I like to:
Go hiking, mountain biking, sailing, and I love going to the movies!
Erin Clark
The most rewarding aspects of working here are:
There are two things that have been extremely rewarding. The first is seeing Blue Corona grow and develop over the past several years, and the second is seeing how Blue Corona has helped other businesses grow.
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be:
An interior decorator. I would draw pictures of what my house would look like when I grew up and decorate my family member's rooms. I also watched an unhealthy amount of Trading Spaces on TLC.
My theme song would be:
"Thank You for Being a Friend" – I'm a sucker for the Golden Girls!
Chase Wolf
I love web design/development because:
It is so dynamic and evolving. Creating the design or code behind a website is like engineering a living breathing machine that reacts to the user's commands. It feels alive and the limitations are almost endless with the evolving technologies.
Most people would be surprised to know that:
I was awarded Best-in-Class in my childhood Karate class. To this day I am still a fierce white belt.
My favorite fictional character is:
Frank Hardy from The Hardy Boys. He was always very level-headed despite the crazy situations he found himself in. Being a young detective is one of the coolest things, and the Hardy Boys were the best in the business.
Nick Massa
My theme song would be:
The "I'm a Dude" song from Good Burger.
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
Batmite – a super advanced alien who spends all his time bothering Batman.
I love data/analytics because:
Whether you're working out, studying or watching a client's site, the only way you can get where you're going is by knowing where you started.
Alanna Potosky
My biggest fear is:
The Hunger Games coming to life.
Most people would be surprised to know that:
I'm an identical twin (maybe this isn't really Alanna answering these questions!!!).
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Making a difference for small companies. It's pretty rewarding seeing a huge spike in their website traffic and hearing about how they booked a big job and how excited they are.
George Diep
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Working with people I can learn from, I can teach, and can laugh with.
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be:
A Transformer that transformed into a dinosaur.
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
Turning everything I touch into Skittles.
Ryan Workman
The thing I like most about working here is:
The company promotes free thought and expression. New ideas and feedback are always encouraged to improve the company.
My dream vacation is:
Not at any specific destination. My dream vacation is a one way ticket with an undetermined itinerary. Making things up as you go along is a much more interesting way to travel.
For fun I like to:
Hike and bike, but I don't do nearly as much of either as I would like to. At some point I would like to hike the Appalachian Trail and do a cross-country bike trip.
Robert Rawlings
My favorite K-Cup flavor is:
Donut Shop.
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be:
A caterpillar.
My favorite fictional character is:
Howard Roark because he's an architect who chooses a difficult life of uncompromising individuality rather than compromising his personal artistic vision to conform to the status quo.
Jill Singhaus
For fun I like to:
Clean, do the dishes, laundry, cook… I think I misread the question.
My biggest pet peeve is:
When Ben plays with Styrofoam.
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Showing business owners how marketing has changed and what they should be doing to increase website visits, leads, and sales.
Sean Kelly
My biggest pet peeve is:
When someone describes something as ironic but it is really just a coincidence or unfortunate.
My theme song would be:
The theme song from Indiana Jones.
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Learning PPC Management from Lylan.
Michelle Mergner
The thing I like most about working here is:
My fun co-workers!
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
The ability to turn into animals.
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be:
Well, when I was 5 I wanted to grow up to be a horse. Maybe that relates to the previous question. But, once I realized that was physically impossible, I wanted to be a writer. (NAILED IT!)
Tara MacDaniels
Most people would be surprised to know that:
I wore Cabbage Patch clothes for the first few weeks of my life. I was too little for regular newborn clothes.
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Seeing my skill set, especially for design, escalate to a level that is unrecognizable since I began here.
My dream vacation would be:
Vacationing on a tropical island with my favorite bands that would delight me with live music as I sip tasty, tropical cocktails from coconuts. (Yes, these vacations actually exist!)
Tyler Yost
I love data/analytics because:
It helps us make accurate decisions, not based on intuition, but based on scientific evidence.
The one food I can't live without is:
Meatloaf. I'm not even kidding.
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
Power negation – the ability to cancel the superpowers of others.
Dana Gleason
The thing I like most about working here is:
The positive atmosphere. It's definitely one of my favorite aspects about working at Blue Corona.
Most people would be surprised to know that:
Since I was 5 years old, I've moved over 15 times in four different states.
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be:
An astronaut, a vet and President of the United States – I had big plans for the future.
Rish Tanna
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
I learned more about SEO in one month at Blue Corona than I did while freelancing for a year.
I love data/analytics because:
The numbers never lie.
My favorite fictional character is:
Arnold from Hey Arnold! His football shaped head was epic. He was also a cool guy – friendly and helpful to others. I try my best to be like that.
Lexie Bond
For fun I like to:
Cruise around in my Smart Car, play with my chinchilla, whiten my teeth, blog, walk around or near bodies of water, and look at "missed connections" on Craigslist.
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Making Ben Landers (and sometimes Matt Cutts!) laugh is one of my favorite parts about working here. I'm glad I found somewhere that my (often inappropriate) humor is encouraged rather than frowned upon!
My biggest pet peeve is:
#people #that #don't #understand #twitter #hashtags
Will McQuain
Most people would be surprised to know that:
I have a pretty decent tolerance for Celine Dion songs. I'm just saying… if she came on the radio, I wouldn't change it. I'd actually probably turn it up.
The most rewarding aspect of working here is:
Knowing that we've worked with clients to double their lead volume in one year! That's awesome!
If I were a superhero, my power would be:
To learn things instantly. Languages… instruments… programming… anything!
Emily Light
